KNW Neighbourhood Watch Road Show

Great and Fantastic News

Hi all,

It’s been 2 years now since the old Neighbourhood Road Show had to close and cease community activities,

But we’re back

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund we have been able to obtain much needed resources to start the brand new independent Neighbourhood Watch Road Show, which will be governed by the Knightstone Neighbourhood Watch, one of the most active and honest Watches in the West Midland area, which I am proud to be the Coordinator of and work with a very strong, honest and committed management team.

We have activated a Sustainability Plan / Sharing Resources Plan and a Working Code of Conduct for our partners who are the following:

Police / Birmingham City Council / NHS / Combined Authority / Ambulance and Fire service / BVSC / Educational Department / School / Colleges / Universities / Metal Health Groups and of course any Private and third sector Community Groups which have the welfare of the general public at the top of their agendas.

We want to work in True Partnership with you all.

This means promoting us within your organisation and in return the Road Show will promote all of your public messages at any of the Road shows we are invited to, as an independent group or on behalf of your organisation. However the above organisations can still help us even though they have not yet contribute to the Road Show which is much needed in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

  • Police – We still need two spaces or facility to park our Stage and Storage Trailers, we would prefer Summerfield Police station as it is closer to our Volunteers and we know they will be safe there. Also your ongoing support in helping us to set up new Neighbourhood Watches in and around Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
  • National Neighbourhood Watch– Help and support

  • Cadets – Promoting the Cadets and fund raising for them along side Birmingham Vernon Sea and Marine Cadets. This will reinforce moral standards in our youth and promote positive activities for our children.

What we will offer to the larger Community..

The first thing is to promote all partners and support the community to grow and do things for themselves, in all areas and cultures, providing a platform for them to do this. We have found Community Events are the best way to do this.

Birmingham and the West Midlands have a diverse society which we should be proud of. We have many cultures but only one Community, Learning about and empathising with the different cultures will create cohesion in the community of Birmingham and the West Midland.

Many groups are unable to do this themselves and this is where we come in; we will offer the following under our Sustainability Plan. We will supply:

  • Small stage / PA sound system
  • Neighbourhood Watch Stall
  • Children’s characters, such as Sgt Koala / Neighbourhood Watch Dog and the Naughty Raccoon which are well known in Birmingham and the Schools of Birmingham as part of the Anti-Bullying Gun and Knife Crime Campaign, which we intend to bring back and include in the Road Shows.
  • Other character such as Mickey / Minnie Mouse / Ben Ten / Timmy the sheep / Olaf and much, much more!
  • We hope to bring back the British Heart Foundations Push Button CPR training to the Road Show.

All this for a set price of £250 per day excluding fuel costs.

Yes £250! We are not out to make a profit just to sustain the Road Show in return the Event organisers will allow us to Fund raise with two Bouncy Castle’s and Face Painter at their Event. All money raised by the Road Show will go in to our Sustainability Plan for future Road Shows.

All private event hire prices below!

All these resources will be on our website by the beginning of 2020. All bookings for any Event will be on a first come first served basis so book your event A.S.A.P in the New Year!

He still gets it wrong some times and is still mischievous but his a good lad really and the Neighbourhood Watch Dog is there to be his guide.

Raccoon1

Naughty Raccoon – In 2010 the naughty Raccoon emigrated with is family from North America to settle in Birmingham. His Mom and Dad contact Mark and the KNW to help them with him because he was mixing with the wrong crowd and always getting in to trouble.

From 2012 – 2016 naughty Raccoon was the favourite character in the road show and the Anti bullying campaigns, he was and still is very mischievous but very loveable too, alongside his friends and mentors and role models gave and will give very important messages out to the public and school.
